THE PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

Central Kentucky Reining Horse Association has come a long way since I was President during its first year of 1997.  Our 1st show was at Masterson Station Park in Lexington showing N.R.H.A. classes with an A.Q.H.A show.  We showed at 1:00 in the morning in an outdoor pen with the make-up pen being grass with no lights!!!
As I look around at the banquet the same founding members are still active and showing.  They all have come a long way.
C.K.R.H.A. is very sound financially; we now have eight shows locally we can participate in.  The Clayton Woosley show is our showcase of shows, beginning in 2002 and adding a Derby in 2005.  This show started at Lakeside Arena, then moved to the Kentucky Horse Park and just keeps getting bigger every year.
When I was asked to become President, my first thought was I don’t have enough time!  If we all take a little more time and help each other this club will thrive and grow.
What can we do to make C.K.R.H.A. better?  My goal is fine tuning what we already have and to keep making C.K.R.H. A. strong.  On Monday March 3, we will have a general membership meeting for everyone who wishes to attend.  We would love to hear your suggestions and for anyone who wishes to help out please let us know.  If you are unable to attend please contact one of the directors or myself with any ideas.
I would also like to welcome our new directors on the board, Cassie Brown, Lacie Deputy and Jeanne McGuire.  Good Luck this year and hope to see you at the meeting.
